Do you believe that Women should be allowed to preach to men? This has been one of the most dividing issues in Church history. Personally, I think that God can use women just as well as men. I don't believe though that women should be appointed as bishops though. I think that this is taking it too far. Many women have been powerful preachers, because women aren't afraid to speak there mind and pour out there emotions. I know many people who are against it including my parents and sister. I think that if God used women in the Old Testament (ie. Deborah), why can't he use them in the New Testament? Many people use 1 Corinthians 14:34 Okay, Paul said that because the women and men were having shouting wars over doctrine. So aslong as the men or women don't bring out machine guns, I think that is fine for women to preach to both men and women.

Ah, see I'm one of them who believes that it is the job of the man to lead the church, just as he leads his family. I believe that women may, of course, speak at events or the like, and hold other authority positions in the church (Sunday School teacher, treasurer, etc.) but I do not believe that they should hold the position of Pastor of a church. That spot is reserved for a man.
1 Timothy 2:11-15 "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety."

but it says women will be saved through childbearing - if they continue in faith, love and holiness with prosperity. So now that should make the previous verse void and therefore it be allowed. If it's void it proves neither side, not yours I believe that women preaching to men should be allowed (I see no problem in that) but it's not really the most effective thing to do. Women can relate well to women, and vice versa. The reason I believe man can override such a statement is because we are sensed to be leaders. We are meant to lead our households, and take care of our children, and guard our wives with a valiant heart. Since man can lead, he can definitely preach to women, leading the message. Priest in Exodus and Leviticus were related to Aaron, but it was his sons not daughters who gained the priesthood.

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. I think that we need to look at the part that says 'as also saith the law'. The law of man in the time of Jesus didn't give equal rights to both men and women. Men were the ones to own things, men were the ones to be heard, men were the ones in power. Women were there to have kids and cook. Times have changed, and I think that needs to be taken into consideration. I personally see no problem with women preaching - they are just as equal as men are. They are as intelligent, and as equipped to spread the word of God. I don't think God discriminates against women. He wants us all to spread His word no matter our gender, race, or history.

kk guys..... ummmm, I agree with you Julia. Zac.... I agree with this Women can relate well to women, and vice versa.
The reason I believe man can override such a statement is because we are sensed to be leaders. We are meant to lead our households, and take care of our children, and guard our wives with a valiant heart. Women are better at pouring out there heart and speaking there heart.

I agree with you completely on that James. I believe that we're meant to lead and all. But, hearing the side of women on a subject, or women preaching on a subject more well known to them is sometimes the best way to go

So Zac, are you saying that women should only preach on certain subjects, and men all the rest?
